What is Individual Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a patient- or client-centered approach, also called talk therapy, that allows you to talk openly about your feelings, symptoms, or things that are important to you. It provides a safe and supportive environment in which you can work with your therapist to live a healthier and happier life.
The therapeutic process takes place in (usually) weekly 50-minute sessions. The frequency of psychotherapy sessions can vary depending on recommendations, needs, and personal resources. We use an integrative approach, which means that we adapt the therapy methods to your specific needs and goals.
Our collaboration is based on respect, confidentiality, and unconditional acceptance. Our role is to support you in your own psychotherapy process, self-knowledge, and development, and to provide you with the tools you need to make the changes you want in your life.
Who is Individual Psychotherapy For?
Psychotherapy was created to help people. Virtually anyone can need psychotherapy, without discrimination or barriers. Often, people who feel they need psychotherapy are people who are experiencing various emotional difficulties and need to overcome them with the help of a psychotherapist.
Our individual psychotherapy service is for you if:
- You are struggling with mental health disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.), and you are also in treatment with medication for these disorders
- You do not have a mental health disorder, but you need emotional support
- You are having difficulty managing emotions
- You are facing professional burnout or prolonged stress
- You want to improve your self-confidence
- You are going through periods of mourning or separation
- You are looking for balance in family or professional relationships
- You feel the need for a change in your personal life
- You want to know yourself better and want to achieve personal growth
These situations are just a few examples of the many reasons why you may choose to start therapy. Each person has their own unique story and needs. There is no “perfect” time to start therapy. What matters is your desire to feel better, to make a positive change in your life, and to free yourself from difficulties.
If you are facing a specific situation or feel that you would benefit from professional support, we encourage you to contact us. We can discuss your concerns and explore whether psychotherapy would be suitable for your current needs.
